Light of Your Glorious
My band had just broken up and I still had a demo CD I had put together for our lead singer/songwriter. The CD was full of different song ideas and riffs I was working on. I started listening to the disc while I was driving back and forth to night classes at community college. I began singing and making up melodies to go with the ideas.
During this time I wrote my first songs: “Emily,” “Light of Your Glorious,” “Maybe Tomorrow,” and “Mama Don’t.”I had never really sang before but I asked my friend Phil if I could record some vocals in his studio. I’m not sure what made me think I could sing but I tried it.
I remember a few people literally laughed out loud when I told them I was going to sing and put out an album. I mean they literally laughed out loud-not the “lol” you type when you are texting either. An audible laugh out loud.
I recorded an album called “Songs From Two Towns Over” and gave most of the copies to family and friends who were in need of a good coaster. This was the first song on the album.

I love this song. It’s probably my favorite of yours, unless maybe I count Moses Brown’s “Milk and Honey.”
That car trip made a ripple in time that flooded so many. Thanks for taking it.
